CALIFORNIA- (KTXL) A teenage girl has committed suicide, and authorities believe that it was due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
15-year-old Jo’Vianni “Jo”Smith was found dead by hanging, inside of her home earlier this month.
Her mother, Danielle Hunt, says that Smith never left a suicide note but she feels that the Coronavirus crisis played a role in her daughter taking her life.
Hunt told KTXL “I felt that I was doing all that I could as a parent to leave the communication open” adding “sometimes we may need to stop and worry about the kids that we don’t think we need to worry about.”
Smith was an athlete in school, playing softball on travel teams as a catcher and second baseman.
