CHICAGO- A teen accused of catfishing a man, and then killing him, used photos of his ex-girlfriend, according to prosecutors.
Keon Rodgers, 19, who faces first-degree charges for the Jan. 2020 killing of Devondrey Cummings, enticed him to meet up for sex, after setting up an online dating profile, using photo’s of his son’s mother, prosecutors said in a bail hearing on Sunday, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Instead, Rodgers, along with two other suspects, allegedly shot and killed Cummings in an attempted robbery.
Police say Rodgers was the gunman, and Facebook photos from his profile show him and the two other suspects flashing guns on the day Cummings was killed.
Two days earlier, Rodger’s ex gave him photos of herself, and her e-mail but it’s unclear if she’ll also be facing charges.
Rodgers told police that he was just a look-out, and one of the other teen suspects fatally shot Cummings and fled the scene.
