Teenager Charged After Allegedly Carjacking Uber Driver Who Refused To Allow His Dog Inside Car

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A teenager was arrested Wednesday, after he allegedly got into fight with a rideshare driver who wouldn’t let his dog into the vehicle, according to police.

An Uber driver picked up Dax Franco Willis, 19, around 7 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

When Willis attempted to get into the Uber, the driver told him his pet dog wasn’t allowed in the car.

Willis allegedly became upset and allegedly threatened to use pepper-spray on the driver.

Police say Willis then allegedly assaulted the female driver, dragged her from her car and stole her cellphone before he fled the scene in her car.

Willis was arrested Monday and charged with unarmed carjacking and robbery.

Uber is required to allow passengers with service animals but not non-service animals.
