18 year old Heaven Leigh Ridick was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action early Tues after turning herself into the police, accompanied by her mother.
According to Kanascity.com, prosecutors charged Redick with murder in the the death of 18 year old Alaysia Nelson who was found dead in a parking lot from numerous stab wounds last week.
Court documents show that a witness told police he picked Redick up in his vehicle and drove Redick to the fight that took place at a parking lot.
After Redick was dropped off, she allegedly approached a car that Nelson was sitting in with another female and began banging on the car while yelling for Nelson to come out.
Witnesses say that’s when Redick pulled her knife out as Nelson came out of the vehicle she was in. Both women began to fight and according to witnesses, they told Redick to drop her knife. After punches were thrown, the documents state that’s when Redick allegedly pepper-sprayed Nelson. They continued fighting, until Redick allegedly stabbed Nelson, who then fell to the ground.
Nelson’s friend told police that she came out of the vehicle and found Nelson severely bleeding on the ground.
Redick allegedly fled in the same car with the male who drove her to the fight. The male witness told police that she had blood all over her knife and he had told her to get out of his car.
Police found threatening text messages between both of the teenagers before they fought.
It’s not sure how much time Redick’s charges carry.
