Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, opened up in a recent interview, in which he says that he was suicidal while serving his time in jail.
The Brooklyn rapper, sat down with Fox5 NY reporter Lisa Ever’s, telling her how difficult it was for him being in jail, and how he contemplated taking his own life.
“I think people would have attempted suicide. At a point in jail I thought about it,” Tekashi said. “It’s so much stress, so much pressure because you’re seeing yourself on the news every day, this, that and a third, when is this going to come to an end?”.
Tekashi added that what took a toll on his mental anguish, was when he learned that his former associates were working against him, by plotting to kill him, and that taking the stand against them doesn’t make him a snitch as the streets are calling him.
“The audience understands it, the public, the world understands it, but they’ll paint it like “this guy’s a snitch.” But what’s the definition of a snitch? I feel like the definition of a snitch and definition of a rat is telling on your friends” Tekashi said.
Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was sentenced to serve 48 years in prison, but only served 2 years, after pleading guilty to multiple counts of gun charges, racketeering and drug trafficking. He also cooperated with prosecutors, taking the stand against his former manager and associates.
He still proclaims that he’s not a snitch.
