Tennessee man accused of posing as rideshare driver and allegedly raping woman

TENNESSEE- A man has been arrested and charged after posing as a rideshare driver and allegedly raping a woman.

Randall Johnson was taken into police custody on Monday and charged with several counts of aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault for the May 24 incident, according to the Nashville Police Department.

Police say a woman and a male acquaintance were waiting for a ride home when they willingly got inside of Johnson’s black Chevrolet pickup truck. Johnson allegedly drove the pair to a location, but then sped away with the woman after the male exited the vehicle.

The victim says she taken to a field in a remote area where Johnson allegedly raped her, before dropping her off back in Nashville.

Johnson was arrested after police received a tip.
