TEXAS – A man was arrested after police say he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman he kept in his garage for years.
Lee Carter, 52, was charged with kidnapping in April and arrested Wednesday after police said he kept a woman locked in his garage for almost five years, The Messenger reported.
The woman told police that he abducted her while she was pregnant and panhandling.
About 5 years ago, she was panhandling on the street when Carter approached her and gave her a dollar. When she got into his vehicle, he took her back to his home, where he’s allegedly kept her ever since.
The woman told police she was pregnant.
In court documents obtained by KHOU, the woman alleges that Carter forced her to do drugs and have sex with him.
A complaint reads that the victim had many failed attempts to leave the home. She tried to escape once during a fire but was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries and then picked up by Carter.
It’s unclear if she gave birth, and if so, what happened to the baby.
She weighed only 70 pounds when police found her inside of the garage, there was also a mattress with vomit on it and a makeshift toilet that did not flush.
Carter, who raps under the name “Viper”, was known for his 2008 album “You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack.”
