The Recording Acadamy mistakenly announced the wrong winners ahead of the televised 2024 Grammy’s airing on Sunday.
The Acadamy posted winners on the premiere of the awards ceremony on X, formerly known Twitter.
It was announced by the Acadamy that the winner’s for “Best Rap Song” were Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, which was a mistake. The correct winner is “Scientists & Engineers” by Killer Mike.
The tweet which mistakenly read that Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s “Barbie World” from the movie “Barbie” won was soon deleted.
This caused a stir for the Nicki Minaj fans, because it would have been her first Grammy had she won. She’s been nominated 12 times but has yet to win an award.
