The Weeknd & Daft Punk are in major legal troubles after an artist has just accused them of stealing her song “Starboy”.
According to court documents obtained by The Daily News, singer/songwriter Yasminah is suing The Weeknd & his collaborators Daft Punk for $5 million dollars.
Yasminah claims that the song “Starboy” is very similar to her song “Hooyo” which came out in 2009.
The singer claims that “Starboy” has the same key, notes, a similar tempo as her song.
According to TMZ two of Yasminah’s producers have settled their lawsuits but Yasminah claims she never got her cut of the money.
“Starboy” became #1 Billboards 100 and has a over a billion views on Youtube.
