‘The Wire’ Co-Creator David Simon Asks Judge To Release Man Who Sold Michael K. Williams Deadly Drugs

NYC- ‘The Wire’ co-creator is begging a judge to give leniency to the drug dealer who sold the deadly dose of drugs that killed actor Michael K. Williams.

In a very emotional three-page letter, David Simon urged judge Ronnie Abrams to consider giving a lesser sentence to 71-year-old Carlos Macci, claiming it was Williams who “bears the fuller responsibility”, court documents show, the New York Post reports.

Simon wrote that the actor’s death was a “tragedy”, adding ” But I know that Michael would look upon the undone and desolate life of Mr. Macci and know two things with certainty: First, that it was Michael who bears the fuller responsibility for what happened,” according to the news outlet.

Macci is one of four men who were allegedly seen selling the actor drugs.

Williams died from an overdose of fentanyl-laced heroin on September 6, 2021, inside of his Brooklyn penthouse.
