TikTok bans “Milk Crate Challenge” videos from app; here’s why
TiKTok is now banning “Milk Crate Challenge” videos from their app after warnings about the dangerous challenge.
“TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content,” a spokesperson for the app told Fast Company. “We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off.”
The challenge has gone viral on social media labeled as “The Hood Olympics”.
The video shows people attempting to climb to the top of the crates, in order to reach the bottom without using their hands and it doesn’t end well. Many seen in these videos have suffered swelling to the face and other injuries.

We are grateful our District One neighbors decided to dismantle their #MilkCrateChallenge
What could possibly go wrong when you step on wobbly, plastic crates stacked on top of each other?! Please think twice before taking part in this internet craze. pic.twitter.com/q38RI3l4xl
