RHODE ISLAND- A toddler is dead after being mauled to death by her family’s dog.
According to NBC, the 15-month-old toddler was killed on Friday when her grand-parents pit-bull mix breed got a hold of her during a backyard lunch.
Two adult family members were injured attempting to stop the the dog.
When police responded to the 911 call, they found the toddler was bitten several times.
Police attempted to attempt life-saving procedures, but the toddler succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced dead at a local Hospital.
The dog was euthanized.
