LOS ANGELES – Tory Lanez’ second bid to be released from prison has been denied.
The California Court of Appeal rejected the singer’s motion to be released on bond while he appeals his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, according to Rolling Stone.
The Canadian born singer and rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, had petitioned for release after his conviction last December, but his motion was denied. His legal team then filed another motion which was denied Thursday.
In his second bail motion, Lanez’ legal team argued that he “is not likely to flee and does not pose a danger to the safety of any person or to the community.”
Lanez was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison for shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion in her foot after a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in the Hollywood Hills.
