Tory Lanez Sentencing Pushed Back For Tuesday, Megan Thee Stallion Submits Witness Impact Statement

LOS ANGELES- Singer Tory Lanez’ sentencing date in the shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion has been pushed back to Tuesday.

During the sentencing, the judge presiding over the case “briefly summarized” over 70 letters of support for Tory, including one from rapper Iggy Azalea, Lanez’s 6-year-old son, an inmate and a jail chaplain, according to journalist Meghann Cuniff.

A victim impact statement was read by the DA on Megan’s behalf. The Houston rapper stated how her decision not to show up in person should be perceived as her “preserving her mental health”.

Megan said since the shooting, she has not “experienced a single day of peace. He lied to anyone that would listen,” she said. She added that the Canadian-born rapper and singer has not shown no remorse and hopes that his sentence will hopefully send a message to every woman of violence.

Iggy Azalea called on the judge to give Tory a sentence that is “transformational, not life destroying.”

Prosecutors are seeking 13 years for Lanez, but his defense team are seeking probation so he could spend time in a “residential drug treatment program.”
