NEW YORK- A woman is dead after her parachute malfunctioned on Saturday, police say.
Troopers in New York say they responded to a “report of a fatal sky driving incident in the area of County Highway 34” in the Westford section of New York after on Saturday around 9 a.m.
An investigation revealed that Karen Bernard, 59, of Florida, jumped out of a plane to skydive when something with her parachute malfunctioned, causing her to fall to her death.
There is still an active investigation.
