Transgender activist fatally shot, and no arrest has been made.

LOUISIANA- A transgender activist was found fatally shot, and police still haven’t made an arrest.

The body of 32-year-old Shakie Peters was discovered on July 1st, with gunshot wounds along a roadside.

Police haven’t made an arrest yet, despite police saying that they had a person of interest.

The Human Rights Campaign has been tracking transgender homicides since 2013, and 2020 has had the highest killings.

Peter’s was identified as a man on police reports, which has upset the LGBTQ community, along with her friends and family.
