Tristian Thompson Files For Guardianship Of Disabled Brother After Mother Dies

Tristian Thompson has filed to become the official guardian of his younger brother, Amari Thompson after the death of their mother.

Thompson, 32, has reportedly been a caregiver for Amari, 17, after their mother died in January.

He has now filed legal documents stating that he’s the closest family member able to provide for Amari as their father is not in their lives, according to PEOPLE.

Court document state that the disabled teen is set to receive over $103,000 inheritance from Andrea.

Amari suffers from multiple medical conditions, including epilepsy, which mean that he requires round-the-clock care and is unable to take care of himself.

Tristian will be become fully responsible for Amari’s care.

Tristian and his brother must apply for citizenship, as they were both born in Canada.

Andrea died on Jan. 5 after suffering a heart attack.
