NYC – Former president Donald Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Trump is the first former president to be convicted of a crime, and he may be facing jail time. Any jail or prison time most likely won’t take effect until after his appeal, which will be after the November election.
He is also the first republican former president nominee to possibly have a rematch with Joe Biden.
Trump is expected to appeal the jury’s decision.
He reacted to his conviction with reporters outside of court, saying “This was a rigged, disgraceful trial, the real verdict is gonna be November 5.”
