CALIFORNIA- Two 13-year-olds have been charged with murder with special circumstances and arson after setting a deadly fire inside of a library, according to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office.
According to KSEE/KGPE, the fire happened on Tuesday, killing two firefighter’s. Fire Captain Raymond Figueroa, 35, and Firefighter Patrick Jones, 25.
Figueroa went inside of the library to stop the fire and became stuck inside somehow. The library’s ceiling then collapsed, not allowing other firefighters to reach him. Jones was also stuck inside.
Police caught the teens after they were spotted running away from the scene.
If the teens, who’s identities are being withheld due to their age are found guilty and charged, they can only be held until they turn 26 years of age due state laws.
The suspects will appear back in court on March, 11th.
