Two Florida Men Charged With Federal Hate Crimes In Attack Of Black Man

FLORIDA- Two men were charged Friday with federal hate crimes for the brutal attack of a black man last November.

Robert Lashley, 52, and Roy Lashley, 55, were indicted by a grand jury, the U.S. Justice Department said in a press release on Friday, according to reports.

The pair were already charged with assault and battery for the attack.

The victim said he was walking away from the dollar store when he heard someone yelling racial slurs at him. Authorities say Robert Lashley went up to the male victim and began hitting him in the face, reports Fox News.

Roy Lasley then attacked the victim several times with the handle of an ax. Police say he also confronted them when they arrived at the scene.
