PHILADELHIA- Police have arrested and charged two men in connection to the death of a 14-year-old boy who was shot 18 times as he waited for a bus.
The district attorney’s office identified the two men as Qadir Johnson, 20, and Kyair Garnett, 21. They were both charged with murder, reckless endangerment, conspiracy, tampering with evidence and other charges, reports NBC News.
Garnett was hit with additional charges that included receipt of stolen property and unauthorized use of an automobile. He also had an outstanding warrant.
Authorities are still searching for three other suspects, but their identities haven’t been released.
Samir Jefferson was waiting at a bus stop around 3:30 pm to head back home from school when two men got out of a car and fired at least 36 rounds. The teen was struck 18 times.
He was pronounced dead at a near-by hospital.
There is no known motive for the killing.
