HOUSTON- UFC fighter Kevin Holland and his training partner heroically took down a gunman who opened fire inside of a restaurant Monday night.
Kevin Holland, who trains in Fort Worth, and his MMA training partner, Patrick Robinson, were eating at the RA Sushi restaurant when the suspect walked in and fired a bullet into the ceiling, reports Fox 26.
Holland, Robinsson and others jumped into action and apprehended the suspect, identified as Jesus Edrai Cardiel Samaniego, 24, according to WFAA.
Robinson told reporters “Me and my buddy, we ran to the shooter, got him down, strangled him, took the gun from him, and then called the police.”
“We fight for a living, so it was just quick instincts.”
The suspect is facing multiple charges.
