MICHIGAN- A vigilante pedophile hunter who goes by “Boobac Shakar” was shot and killed after confronting a teenager he thought was preying on a young girl, police said.
Robert Wayne Lee, 40, known to his fans as Boopac Shakur, would pose as 15-year-old on social media in order to expose child predators.
Police say Lee was on one of his hunts around 10:30 p.m. on Friday when he approached a teenager at a restaurant and punched him, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
The teenager was with his friends during the confrontation. One of them pulled a knife out and another pulled a gun out and opened fire on Lee, shooting him multiple times.
Lee was rushed to a hospital where he died from his injuries, according to reports.
The unidentified suspects fled the scene but were later arrested.
The teenager who Lee falsely accused wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger, but his friend who was at the opposite side of the table.
Lee’s work has led to the arrests of real pedophile’s, police said. One of the men busted was a former police officer who is now faces charges.
