Virginia man gets 5 years in prison for burning dog to death

VIRGINIA- 20-year-old Jyahshua A. Hill was sentenced to 5 years in prison without parole for burning a dog to death.

Prosecutors say Hill tied the dog to a fence, covered it in accelerant and set it on fire.

The dog was actually still alive inside of a park in Feb when he was found by the Richmond Animal Care and Control. The dog was being taken care of and  they even named him Tommie.

The shelter posted photos of the injured dog with bandages, and they received tons of donations after his story spread.

He died several days later

Hill received 5 years with no parole as part of his plea deal. He is also barred from possessing or owning animals for LIFE.
