Rapper continued on with his 5th annual “Gunna’s Great Giveaway” after Wal-Mart cancelled his event.
The rapper’s event was going to be with sunglasses brand Goodr in conjunction with Wal-Mart, but they decided to cancel the annual event.
It may have to do with Gunna being released from jail after entering a plea deal on racketeering charges. He served 7 months in Fulton County Jail.
A thousand families were left disappointed, but Gunna and his team decided to give out $100,000 in gift cards to the families that had signed up for the giveaway, according to Uproxx.
In a statement, Goodr CEO Jasmine Crowe said:
“It was essential to Gunna, his Great Giveaway Family Foundation, and Goodr to make sure that families received the assistance promised to them no matter what.”
Adding “Since 2018, we have worked with Gunna to his $100K Christmas Giveaway-this was not the first-time event.”
