MISSISSIPPI- A warrant has been issued for a man seen attacking a black MSNBC reporter during a Live broadcast of hurricane Ida, police say.
Mississippi police issued the arrest warrant on Tuesday, which charges Benjamin Eugene Dagley, of Ohio, with two counts of simple assault, one count of disturbing the peace and one count of violating an emergency curfew.
On Monday, Shaquille Brewster, a correspondent for MSNBC and NBC, was reporting live on a beach in Gulfport when Dagley pulled up in a white pickup truck and ran towards him as he yelling and visibly upset.
Brewster can be seen trying to get away from Dagley, who charged him as he yelled “Cover this accurately!”. The live coverage was then abruptly cut off.
Brewster tweeted “Appreciate the concern guys. The team and I are all good!”.
