TEXAS- A police officer has been charged in the murder of an unarmed black man.
Officer Shaun Lucas of the Wolfe City Police Dept. was charged with murder and booked into the Hunt County Jail on Monday. His bond has been set at $1 million.
31-year-old Johnathan Price was shot and killed on Saturday by Lucas, who was responding to call about a fight in progress at a Texas Gas station. Price was attempting to stop a man from assaulting a woman.
Price was killed by Lucas, after walking away because he was going to be detained. Price was pronounced dead at a nearby Hospital.
Price was unarmed.
Protests have began demanding justice for Price..
