Whitney Houston’s best friend Robyn Crawford says they had a romantic relationship in her new memoir “A Song For You”: My Life With Whitney Houston.
According to an excerpt obtained by People, Crawford writes about meeting Houston in the 80’s when they were counselors at a New Jersey summer camp.
Crawford writes in her memoir “We wanted to be together, “and that meant just us.”
Their romance ended soon after Houston signed her record deal with Clive Davis at Arista records. She broke up with Crawford by buying her a slate blue Bible in 1982.
Crawford wrote “She said we shouldn’t be physical anymore,” adding “because it would make our journey even more difficult.”
Crawford decided to remain silent because according to her, if people found out about their relationship in the 80’s, people would use that against.
