Woman accused of throwing baby in dumpster pleads not guilty

CONNECTICUT- A woman accused of abandoning a baby in a dumpster, has pleaded not guilty.

Andiana Velez, 24, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to chares of second-degree, first-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a child.

Authorities say Velez was the babysitter, and stabbed the baby’s mother during an argument, before taking the baby and abandoning her in a dumpster on Oct. 12, according to The New Haven Register.

A neighbor found the cold baby girl inside a dumpster, with burn marks on her hands.

The baby was treated for injuries, and her survived the stabbing.
