MASSACHUSSETTS- A 23-year-old man is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend after an armed stand-off with police.
Tyler Gibbs allegedly went to the home of his ex-girlfriend, 20-year-old Kianna Paige Barrows, on Tuesday morning. Police say he was carrying a gun and wearing a ski mask, reports WCVB.
Prosecutors say Gibbs fatally shot Barrows during a “domestic situation”.
Police received a call from the victim’s niece saying Barrows had been shot. When police arrived at the scene, Gibbs was outside of the home with a gun.
For almost three hours, SWAT, state and local authorities negotiated with Gibbs, who surrendered after putting his gun down on the floor.
Barrows was found with a gunshot wound in an upstairs room, according to court documents, reports WCVB.
Gibbs has been charged with murder, assault to murder with a firearm and possessing a firearm without an FID card.
