FLORIDA/NYC- A woman who was caught on video surveillance allegedly killing another woman execution-style in New York City has been arrested in Florida, police say.
The NYPD announced the arrest of Claudia Banton, 42, on Twitter.
Banton was taken into custody in connection to the shooting death of 42-year-old Delia Johnson, who was killed Aug. 4.
Banton can be seen walking calmly up to Johnson, who was leaning against a railing and talking to a group of people in front of a building.
Banton is seen shooting Johnson in the right temple and in the thigh, before she walks back to a double-parked Mercedes SUV. Johnson was rushed to a near-by hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The victim’s brother said Banton followed his sister home, as she was returning from a funeral of another neighborhood resident, the New York Daily News reports.
There is no clear motive for the killing.
