Woman charged, after admitting to torturing friends baby
INDIANA- A woman is facing charges, after admitting to torturing her friends daughter.
The 1-year-old girl was dropped off last Friday at her mother’s job, with friction burns to her torso, and face, and burns that were caused by a cigarette lighter according to WXIN.
The baby was treated at the E.R. for her burns, and a broken wrist.
The baby’s mother told them that her friend, Amber Nicole Vannatter, 20, had been taking care of her daughter while she worked.
Authorities interviewed Vannatter on Sunday, who admitted to abusing the baby, after giving police conflicting stories. Her reason was “because she was depressed and the baby was crying”.
Vannatter admitted to holding the girls face against a treadmill as it was running, and burning her on the neck and arms with a lighter when she would cry. She also denied ever hitting the baby.
Vannatter is facing 3 counts of battery, and 3 counts of neglect of a dependent.
