GEORGIA- A woman has been charged after throwing her injured puppy into the ocean because she couldn’t afford a veterinarian, police said.
Candy Marban was arrested on Tuesday and charged with a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals for throwing the puppy into the ocean. Officers were called to the beach on Sept. 12, after receiving a report about a woman who threw a puppy in the water, The New York Post reports.
When they arrived, they found the injured puppy curled up on the sand. It was taken to a vet, where it had to be euthanized.
Marban told police that the puppy became injured the week before and she couldn’t afford to pay a veterinarian.
