A woman has been charged with murder after killing the unborn baby of a woman she got into a fight with.
Police responded to a call on Jan. 24 in the 100 Block of Shadowlawn Drive. According to witnesses, 20-year-old Iveonna Turner was involved in a fight with another woman, reports WDHN.
Turner allegedly struck the pregnant woman multiple times in her stomach with her feet and hands.
The 37-year-old victim sought medical attention at a hospital after suffering from severe cramping and her unborn was later pronounced dead.
A medical examiner ruled that the assault on the victim lead to injuries of the fetus that made the fetus unable to survive, WDHN reported.
