Woman Charged After Guy She Met On Dating App Killed Her Brother In Botched Robbery

FLORIDA- A woman has been charged with murder after luring a man from a dating app to her brother’s death, authorities say.

Tat’yana Mekeva Gatson, 23, of Tampa Bay is accused of pretending to be a woman named “Jada” on the dating ap BLK and meeting up with the unidentified male on May 31, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Police say Gatson invited the male over to an apartment complex, where she allegedly had her brother waiting to rob him.

Police say 18-year-old Jermon Kennard threatened the victim with a knife and demanded money.

The would-be victim then pulled a gun from his waistband and shot Kennard in the head and chest. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Gatson reportedly lied and told police that she thought her brother was going to sell an iPhone to victim and there was never a planned robbery. She also told police that when she ran outside to check on her brother, she heard 5 gunshots.

Authorities said text messages prove Gatson texted her brother to come outside before the male arrived.

Gatson is facing second-degree murder charges. She was released on $15,000 bond.
