FLORIDA- Police have charged a woman with animal cruelty after she was caught on video drowning her dog.
Erica Bank, 32, was recorded on video committing the horrific act in Oct. of last year.
According to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivy, the video was sent in by Bank’s former roommate. The department decided not to release the full video, reports Fox 35.
The video shows Banks, holding her dog, a chihuahua named ‘Sadie’ under water in her pool for several minutes. The dog is seen floating to the top of the water before Banks takes the dog out and reportedly records the body before she slams the dog four times on the pool deck.
Banks is accused of leaving the dog’s dead body out on her porch for several days before she went on social media and live-streamed the dog’s dead body.
Authorities say she was already in jail for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after she stabbed a 68-year-old man twice.
She’s been charged with felony animal cruelty.
