NYC- A woman who falsely accused a black teenage boy of stealing her cellphone inside of a hotel, has finally been charged.
Miya Ponsetto was arraigned in a Manhattan court on Wednesday via videoconference, pleading not guilty to charges that include unlawful imprisonment as a hate crime, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated harassment.
Ponsetto, 22, was at the Arlo Hotel in Dec. of last year when she confronted 14-year-old boy Keyon Harrold Jr.,and began shouting like a mad woman, accusing him of stealing of her phone, which was later found in an Uber.
Cellphone footage taken by a bystander showed Ponsetto grabbing the boy, as he tried to get away from her.
Ponsetto gave a half-ass apology during an interview, but took the apology back during a second interview with CBS, as she showed no remorse for her actions.
Harrold’s parents have filed a lawsuit against Ponsetto and the hotel, claiming their son was racially profiled.
Ponsetto’s next court date is set for Oct.
