FLORIDA- A woman is accused of storing her dead mother’s body inside of a freezer so she could collect her disability checks, police said.
Officers from the Sebastian Police Department made the gruesome discovery during a welfare check on April 28 and found the body of 93-year-old Marie Hoskins inside of chest freezer, according to reports.
The deceased woman’s daughter, Michele Hoskins, 64, admitted to police that she found her mother dead in a bedroom and brought a chest freezer to store her body.
Police say the daughter kept her mother’s body because she “would not be able to receive her disability benefits.”
An investigation revealed that Marie died of natural causes, and she had been deceased for two weeks before her body was discovered.
Hoskins was charged with failure to report the death of her mother and tampering with evidence.
