MASSACHUSETTS- A woman is accused of killing her ex-landlord with a hammer after he confronted her over forged checks.
Xiu Fang Ke, 43, was arrested and charged with murder Wednesday in connection to the death of her former landlord, Leonard Garber, 65, reports NBC News.
Garber was reported missing on Monday.
When police went to his home to conduct a wellness check but couldn’t find him. After two more visits to his home Tuesday, police discovered his body.
His body was found wrapped in a curtain under construction materials and other heavy items, according to a news release.
Ke and Garber had reportedly been spending time together and Ke had allegedly been forging checks from his accounts, stealing more than $40,000.
According to the news release, Garber confronted Ke about the forged checks, and she allegedly struck and killed him.
Ke allegedly confessed to killing Garber.
