ILLINOIS- A woman is accused of pouring boiling water on her boyfriend and posting the video on Snapchat, according to police.
Alexis Sykes, 22, is accused of pouring hot boiling water on her boyfriend, as he slept at their home on Jan. 2, according to the DuPage County State’s attorney’s office.
Prosecutors allege that Sykes then posted the disturbing video Snapchat, instead of helping her boyfriend out with his injuries.
Sykes caption on her Snapchat video allegedly read: “I kinda feel bad now because he got 2 and 3rd degree Burns from face to waist & they rushin him to burn center, but oh well” ( inserts shrugging shoulder emoji) B—H (inserted emoji blowing kiss) Sykes added “n still cried & beg me to drive him to hospital.”
Prosecutors say that as Sykes boyfriends skin peeled off, she hid his keys.
There doesn’t seem to be a motive for this vile act at this time.
Sykes is facing charges of aggravated battery by caustic substance and aggravated domestic battery.
