KANSAS- A mother has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after killing her son because he refused to eat.
Elizabeth Woolheater admitted to the horrible torture that she and her boyfriend put her son through on May 4th. The mother told authorities that after 2-year-old Anthony ‘Tony’ Bunn refused to eat little pieces of Hot Dog’s, she smacked him in the face, and hit him again as her boyfriend Lucas Diel held the food inside of the toddler’s mouth.
The abuse didn’t stop there.
Woolheater than told authorities that upon walking away from her son, she heard her boyfriend beating on her son and did nothing to stop it. She then found her son with a bleeding and swollen face, a broken tooth and a cut on his lip.
Woolheater also said that she didn’t attempt to seek medical attention for her son because she says ” I did not know if it dire enough to call for EMS.”
Bunn died on May 4. He died later died from his injuries.
Autopsy reports show that Bunn had a been abused for a while, with old wounds such as broken ribs, arm and nose. He also had bruises to his face, butt and stomach.
Woodheater’s boyfriend was charged with second-degree murder and has been sentenced to 49 years in prison.
