NEVADA- A woman was sentenced to prison on Wednesday for the killing of her roommate.
According to KVVU-TV, Kiahna Hawkins, 30, was sentenced to 11 to 28 years in prison for shooting and killing Andre D. Smith, 49, who was found dead in the apartment they shared, after she claimed that she was trying to shoot at spirits.
Hawkins was found mentally unfit t stand trial.
The medical examiner’s office stated in their report that Smith died from one gunshot wound to the head, and classified it as Homicide.
Hawkins told police that a spirit had killed Smith. She said that she saw spirits in the same room Smith was in, and that one was even coming out of his body.
She compared what she saw to police as being in a virtual video game.
