ILLINOIS- A woman is accused of fatally shooting a man after him and his girlfriend refused to kiss her.
Claudia Resendiz-Flore, 28, had recently moved in with James P. Jones, 29, and his girlfriend at an apartment complex, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
The three began drinking on Thursday night when Resendiz-Florez asked Jones for a kiss, which he declined, instead kissing his girlfriend.
Resendiz-Florez then asked Jones’ girlfriend for a kiss, and she also declined, prosecutors said.
She then asked Jones for another kiss and he declined again, which made her upset.
Resendi-Florez then grabbed Jones’ gun which was tucked underneath a couch cushion and pointed it at him. According to prosecutors, Jones tried to lower the gun when he saw that she had pulled off the safety, but she was able to lift her hands up and shoot him once in the chest, according to the paper.
Jones’ girlfriend called 911.
Police brought Resendi-Florez in for questioning, and she reportedly admitted to the shooting.
She was charged with murder.
Resendi-Florez is currently in jail, and is expected to appear in court
