LOUISIANA- A woman has been charged after police say she threw two children over a bridge and into a lake.
Police received a report on Thursday about 911 call where the caller described a child floating in a lake, according to local reports.
When Marine patrol officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the body of a young child floating in the lake. A second child was found in the lake, but alive. That child was rushed to a Hospital and placed in critical condition.
Police were searching for a third child, but that child was safely located.
The relationship between the woman and the two children is unknown.
The suspect was arrested, but her charges haven’t been made clear or any other details.
Investigators believe that the unidentified woman crossed over the bridge sometime on Thursday, threw the children in and fled the scene.
