TEXAS- A woman who was caught on video throwing hot soup at a restaurant employee’s face has been arrested.
Amanda Martinez, 31, was arrested and charged on Wednesday with assault for the Nov. 7 attack at the Sol De Jalisco Mexican Restaurant, KWTX-TV reported.
Police say that Martinez picked up an order at the restaurant, but returned to complain that the soup was so hot it had allegedly melted the plastic cover over it.
The restaurants manager apologized to Martinez, offering her a refund or another item on the menu, but Martinez asked to speak to another manager before getting upset and throwing the hot soup in the managers face.
Surveillance video from the restaurant went viral on social media. and a warrant for Martinez’s arrest was issued.
She’s been charged with assault.
