WWE wrestler Big E broke his neck during a Live recording of ‘Smack Down’.
Big E, whose real name is Ettore Ewen, was wrestling with fellow wrestler Ridge Holland on Friday when he broke his neck. In videos from the broadcast that were shared online, Big E can be seen landing on his head after Holland attempted to perform a suplex on him outside of the ring.
The wrestler was seen being taken away in a stretcher as he gave fans a “thumps up.”
Big E confirmed the news on Twitter in a video:
He said “I can’t thank all of you beautiful people enough for all of your concern and your messages. It’s very heartwarming,” Big E said from what appeared to be a hospital bed.”
“I can move all my digits, you see that? That’s nice. That’s always a good thing,” he said while moving his fingers. “Strength feels fine. But unfortunately, right now, they tell me my neck is broken. So there’s that. But once again, thank you everybody, I’m going to be all right. I’ll be good. Don’t worry. Go to sleep. Don’t worry about old me.”
“But for real, thank you. And I appreciate all of you. For real.”
