FLORIDA- Rapper YNW Melly’s double murder trial is expected to begin next month, according to a report.
The Florida rapper, whose real name is Jamell Demons, is accused of killing two of his best friends.
Jury selection has been put on hold, but will resume on June 5, according to Local10. Melly’s mother, Jamie King, went on Instagram last month and told fans “Trial will begin June 5, 2023, no more delays.”
Prosecutors said they will seek the death penalty if he’s convicted.
YNW Melly is accused of shooting and killing Anthony “Sackchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. in 2018.
