TENNESSEE- A YouTuber is dead after a “prank” robbery went wrong Friday night.
Police responded to a parking lot of an Urban Air indoor trampoline park around 9 p.m., where David Starnes Jr., 23, admitted to shooting and killing Timothy Wilks, 20, in self-defense, according to a news conference.
Witnesses told investigators that Wilks and a friend were making a “prank” robbery as part of their YouTube video, when they confronted a group of people with butcher knives, that included Starnes.
Starnes told police that he was unaware of Wilks prank, and shot him in order to defend himself and the people he was with.
Starnes hasn’t been charged.
