YSL RICO Case; Rapper Yak Gotti’s Mother Arrested For Sneaking Rolling Papers Inside Courtroom

ATLANTA- YSL rapper Yak Gotti’s mother was arrested trying to sneak rolling papers into a Fulton County courtroom, according to a report.

Jail records show that Yak’s mother, Latasha Kendrick, 51, was booked into Fulton County Jail on one count of criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor, according to WSB-TV.

Latasha stopped by the Fulton County Courthouse Tuesday to drop off a bag of clothes for her son who was in court for jury selection, according to court documents, the news outlet reports.

Before the bag was handed over to Yak, his attorney, Douglas Weinstein, told a deputy that he received a text message from the rapper’s child’s mother, Nyesha Cox.

Cox told the deputy that she had placed a sealed envelope inside of the bag, according to an affidavit, reports WSB-TV.

Court officers searched the bag and found tobacco rolling papers. Cox was confronted and denied knowing about the contraband, saying Cox had given her the bag.

She was then arrested by deputies, and a warrant was issued for Nyesha Cox.

Yak Gotti, whose real name is Deamonte Kendrick, is 1 of 14 co-defendants, including rapper Young Thug, who were charged with multiple crimes.
