MONTANA- A 12-year-old boy who was found deceased on Feb. 4. was allegedly beaten and starved to death by his family.
According to The Bozman Daily chronicl/AP, the boy was beaten by his grandparent’s, James Sasser Jr., 47, Patricia Batts, 48, and his 14-year-old uncle.
Prosecutors say that the boys 14-year-old uncle admitted to kicking Hurley 24 to 36 time sin the head, before he died. He’s now been charged with deliberate homicide.
He allegedly admitted to beating his 12-year-old nephew, witnessing him being beaten by their grandparents, and being starved. Some of the abuse was even recorded. They hid food from Hurley, by locking it up, and abused him with wooden paddles.
The uncle says the victim was in a heated argument with his uncle, and he allegedly held a knife over him. Batts, the grandmother, told authorities that Hurley was on the floor, moaning and in pure agony, but nor she or anyone else sought medical attention for him.
The boys grandparents were charged under the felony murder law, alleging they committed felony aggravated assault that contributed to the boy’s death.
